Serving drug addicts and the homeless in Tel Aviv and other cities by providing food, clothing, and support, in order to see them restored through the Gospel of Jesus.
Read about the ministry ›Aviv Ministry has served drug addicts and the homeless in south Tel Aviv, providing food, clothing, and support. Their primary goal is to help people leave their addiction, get restored through the Gospel of Jesus, return to normal life and become a blessing to others.
Aviv also operates a men’s rehab center in Beersheba, a women’s shelter for victims of abuse, and supports new Jewish immigrants and the needy in Ashkelon with humanitarian aid.
Aviv Ministry reaches out to the outcasts and the needy, such as addicts, the homeless, and victims of abuse, believing that this effort is especially close to God’s heart, as Jesus said: “I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink… Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me” (Matt. 25:35). Aviv Ministry believes that every Christian’s highest calling is to share the Gospel of Messiah and that the ultimate goal of any church activity or discipleship program is salvation of the lost.
Dov Bikas was born in Lithuania in 1959 and immigrated to Israel at age 12. He came to faith in Jesus at 25 through the ministry of “The Shelter” in Eilat and began full-time ministry in 1990, focusing on reaching Russian Jewish immigrants. Later, he and his wife Olga moved to central Israel, where they started outreach in south Tel Aviv, helping addicts and the homeless find hope and transformation through faith in the Messiah. Eventually, they opened a Rehab Center for men in Beersheba, as well as a Women’s Shelter for victims of abuse. Dov is also the founder and elder of the Desert Flowers Congregation in Beersheva.
